PRODUCT INFORMATION:
Samsung enters the touch screen ring
Touchscreen is the currently the most popular way of interacting with a phone. Using a physical keyboard seems so antiquated by this standard. The i900 Omnia has everything that the very popular iPhone includes feature-wise. At 127 grams this phone isn’t very heavy but is given a nice solid weight that lets you know that this is an important piece of technology. At 12.5mm thin, this is by no means an obtrusive phone.
The touchscreen is very responsive and at 3.2 inches high it gives you a lot of room to maneuver. Two examples of the software for the phone include an accelerometer for auto-rotating information on the screen and handwriting recognition which lets you use the stylus as you would a pen and the Omnia will translate it into notes.
There is a MicroSD slot that hold up to 16 Gigabytes for a lot of extra room, but it might not be necessary because there are two models of the phone available housing 8 and 16 Gigabytes. 128 MB RAM, 256 MB ROM, and a 624MHZ processor.
There some great connections on this phone including EDGE, a strong 3G, Wi-fi for surfing the web, and Bluetooth. All these connections enable the phone to not only connect to many peripherals but surf the web at high speeds and then download files at transfer rates that rival broadband.
A 5 Megapixel camera with autofocus, image stabilizer, video recording, and a flash features make it more powerful than some digital cameras. This is essentially an all-in-one phone for the user that doesn’t want to switch between devices all the time.
